Young guns don't sleep in Teolo - International Downhill Federation

We woke to the Teolo morning forecast; the incredibly hot weather of the past two days would end, and be replaced with rain. A wet race loomed.

The morning featured the inline skate finals, and the real skateboarding action was pushed to the afternoon; Opens, Womens, Juniors, Masters and Luge.

But before we go any further we have to mention what we forgot to report yesterday; Carlos Paixão broke the track record with the time of 1:56.022.

The rain never appeared in the afternoon, and last year's winner Vašek Čvančara wasn't able to repeat, coming fourth in the semis, and repeating that fourth position in the consi. Instead it was Carlos Paixão taking the win, catapulting himself to the top of the IDF World Champion points race, and firming as favorite to win the overall 2017 crown and perform a rare threepeat as World Champ. Tristan Cardillo continued his strong form to place second, and the consistent Mitch Thompson snagged the spot he's made his own: third.

Tristan Cardillo also won the Junior category and it looks like there's no stopping this 17-year-old rider from dominating in future years.

The Womens was another tale of Emily Pross domination. She's won all five of her races this year, and has never looked like losing. Her focus is now in the Opens where she came a creditable seventh, and sits at 15th spot in the world rankings.

Mikel Echegaray Diez did not miss the win again in Luge class, crossing the finish line way much in front of William Stephenson and Kolby Parks.

Masters class was dominate by the two Spanish Derek Damian Blanquer in first position and Luis Garcia in second, the Italian Emanuele Caruso close the podium with a third place.
