Waiting for Mt Ruapehu - International Downhill Federation
Mt. Ruapehu resort
Mt. Ruapehu resort

Glorious sunny weather yesterday, but today Mt Ruapehu is sunk in fog and rain, with limited visibility. The scheduled freeride is going ahead, but many riders are hanging indoors in front of the fire, waiting for drier conditions.

Tomorrow's forecast is for clear weather. Timed qualifiers will run all day, which might be needed due to the lack of practice runs today. The track is 2 km of sweepers with speeds over 80 km/h, and a tight, tricky chicane right before the finish line. The surface is butter smooth.
