The South American Tour has begun with Lomalinda - International Downhill Federation

Riders @ LomalindaThe South American leg of the IDF World Cup kicked of today at Subachqoque, Colombia. Weather tricked riders all day long as rain and sun battled over the mountain.

Riders where constantly changing wheels before each run to try and outrun the weather but once in the start line conditions could have changed, practice runs where made on rain, sun and patchy surface.

The South American Tour is up for grabs, Argentina, Brazil, Perú, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador brought their top riders for a spot as one of the best riders of South America. Santiago Salaberry from Argentina, Rodrigo Zuzunaga from Perú, Thiago Mohr from Brasil, Felipe Marín and Juan Trujillo from Colombia stood out in the hard to read practice runs. Handling the weather properly will be decisive in the race tomorrow.

A big representation from the Luge community was present at Lomalinda. Konstantin Weigl (Austrian), Mikel Echegaray and Jan Tarradas (both from Spain), Abdil Mahdzan (Malaysia) and Andres Arias (Colombia) are looking for the best among the in both Classic and Street categories.

Due to the few amount of riders no qualification was needed since all riders will race tomorrow, seeded will be done according to the 2014 IDF ranking and local rankings.
