Morning started early here in Rosa Khutor Olympic Center for the finals of Sanki 2018. The forecast did not promised good weather for today but fortunately all the categories had the chance to race on a dry track.
Street Luge category went down first going straight to the finals: Will Stephenson had the lead through all the track and got the first place followed by the Russian Ildar Sharipov. Shane Mcdougall, had an accident yesterday outside of the competition, but no matters, he did not dropped the race and finished in third place followed by the young Russian promise of Street Luge Daniil Bolotnikov.
Open Skateboard category had a tight race from the quarter till the finals changing completely the result we had during the qualifications: it's the Russian Ildar Sharpov that crossed first the finish line first taking home this first World Qualifying, followed in second place by his compatriot Stepan Kruhmalev. The American Garret Smith had a safe run down the track gaining the third place on the finals.
Anastasija Akentyeva had an easy race in the Women category and she got the first place, we really looking forward to see more women here next year!
For Master Skateboard is the Russian Mikhail Zavyalov that win the first edition of Sanki followed by his fellow Viktor Bukin .
The award ceremony was hosted in the venue with also the president of the Russian Skateboard Federation and the atmosphere was amazingly great.
This event settled a new standard in our sport and we look forward to have again Sanki race in our quiver.
