Riley Harris (Canada) qualified fastest at Veggie Hill today, just pipping Brazilian Max Ballesteros and fellow Canadian Patrick Switzer in an epic battle on the final run of the day.
Riley took the lead early in the day and held off a series of challenges, but appeared gone when both Max and Patrick smashed the 1:18 barrier on the final run to overtake him. Riley rose to the occasion, defeating Max by an incredibly slim 0.008 of a second to regain 1st place and go into tomorrow's finals as favourite.
In womens, Rachel Bruskoff of the USA was the fastest of a deep womens field, while local Pantoy was the fastest Junior. In Masters, Ben Hay of Australia dominated the small field and also placed 10th in Opens.
