Faces of Tour De Maryhill Practice Day - International Downhill Federation

Tour De Maryhill brought out a mix of racers; veterans and noobs, young and old, local and international. Meet both new and old faces here.

Daniel Edmondson, US, is one of the first adaptive skaters to grace the famous Loops track. He’s a double amputee and uses knee pads with shoe soles glued to the bottoms for braking. This is his fourth time skating Maryhill and first time racing IDF.

Morgan Owens, US, is kind of a local (residing from Mt. Shasta) and is testing the speed mullet. If you think it’s a good look, then you should definitely encourage him to continue growing it... for aero speed.

Sabrina Riffenburgh, US, is the Women’s Streetluge defending champion from Maryhill Windwalk 2017. Her biggest competition is Jenn Butler, US, who is HOT off a 2nd-place finish in Colombia for Open Luge category. Jenn ALSO placed 2nd at Maryhill Windwalk 2017. This is a battle with history!

Zak Maytum, US, didn’t let us down. Expect him to cause upsets in qualifying AND racing. He currently holds the track record for Open Skate at 3,04.32, and he is training a handful of Team Venom athletes for Sunday’s upcoming race.

Mikel Echegaray, ES, traveled to defend his Maryhill track record for Streetluge of 2,58.508. He for sure will cause upsets among the top NorAm Streetlugers fighting for the Champion title... and he may even do it on a classic Streetluge for extra flex! Just Mikel things.

East-coast native Daniel Minsky, US, is making his FIRST-ever Maryhill appearance. This was a shock to many marshalls and Maryhill locals.

Harry Haz Clarke and Davis Lanham are present and representing the Australian faction. Haz was looking especially FAST on the track today. He’s definitely here to block Daina Banks, US, from taking the gold and his 2019 World Championship title.

Nora Manger, US, now 17, has been bombing Maryhill for over three years! She’ll be racing in both Women’s and Junior's categories in Sunday’s Tour de Maryhill race.

Tim Koch, CA, is here to hold down the top-ranking spot in North America for Streetluge. He needs to place better than 2nd to fully secure his 2019 NorAm Champion title.

Max Capps, US, is back to defend his 2017 Maryhill Windwalk Champion title. Danger Dane Hanna, CA, needs to place better than 8th to secure his 2019 NorAm Champion title... but will his sprained ankle handle the never-ending turns of Maryhill Loops Rd?

Tessa Campbell, from Pender Harbour, CA, is rocking team Irene leathers that she chose from the team Irene leather closet... yes, that’s a thing!

Garett Belanger, US, is what we call a Maryhill local. He’s a Motion board shop employee, Seattle native, and can be found getting into the mix with IDF’s top-ranking racers on Maryhill Loops Rd.

Joaquin Romero, PH, chose Tour De Maryhill as his first international race! He is continuing his USA tour with the SMR Time Trial next.

A Maryhill race wouldn’t be complete without the Brazilians. Racers Kassy Jhones, Everton Onzi, and Cristiano Mendonca are in attendance, representing Brazil and hunting for trophies.
