The track at Aguas de Lindoia is one of the most technical tracks in the IDF circuit, with back-to-back hairpins on a very steep hill. Riders battled all day long to get the best time down the track.
Brazilian Tiago Mohr took the early lead, only to see WC leader and late arrival Dillon Stephens smash his best time by a second on only his third run ever down the hill.

Every detail of the run counted in the riders’ final time. Top qualifiers including best Junior Keenan Macartney from Canada, swapped places after each run. Drifting into the apex or, believe it or not, gripping through these tight corners made this exciting course a technical challenge for all riders.
Although the track is only 750 meters long, a substantial part of it ridden sideways, so the heat of the track surface and the performance of the wheels made a big difference between throughout the day. The morning was very hot while the afternoon had a drop in temperature, which improved the times. Erik Lundberg took advantage with the best time of the day 1:06.172.
Racing tomorrow will be intense, as riders will fight to get and maintain the lead off the push. There's little room for drafting, and passing opportunities are likely to only arise from mistakes. But the track is so technical there's bound to be plenty of those.
