We received some unfortunate news from Austria today regarding King’s Gate WQS, as well as some positive news from Transylvania. We wanted to provide the following update:
The organization behind the King’s Gate event, Big Mountain Skate, recently inspected the race track. Upon inspection, they noticed that the heavy snow of this winter season has substantially damaged the surface of the road, making it very rough. The consensus is that the track is no longer sufficiently safe to host a competition. Consequently, we are sharing the official announcement that the event is cancelled.
Big Mountain Skate will refund all paid registrations in the next few days. If you paid your registration but haven’t yet received any news about your refund, please contact info@bigmountainskate.com
We apologize to anyone that already made plans to race King's Gate, but we do also have some good news regarding the week you would have spend in Austria!
After Transylvania WQS (6/8 July)(July 6-8), the organizer, DEVAstation L. crew announced that it will be possible to freeride the race track from July 9-13. It’s a nice opportunity to keep practicing before the 10th anniversary of Kozakov WC that will happen the following week, July 18-21. Find all the info at www.transylvaniadownhill.com or on the event page.
See you this summer in Europe, and we hope you’ve been able to enjoy some snowsports this winter!
