Kolby Parks WINS Killington World Cup for Luge!
Tim Koch leads the finals' heat into the straightaway before Tetanus Corner. He threw down his brakes, but Kolby didn't! As a lighter rider, Kolby was able to break later than Tim and pass him on the outside of Tetanus Corner! AND THE CROWD WENT WILD!
The NorAm Luge Champion title will come down to Maryhill WQS, with both Tim Koch and Kolby Parks sitting equally at the top of the rankings! And, what does this mean for the World Tour? Does Kolby's win at Killington foreshadow an overall World Champion title, again?
Skate Qualifiers
Dane Hanna, CAN, was the fastest skater on Killington today with a 1:53.93; only 0:0.02 behind the Tim Koch's fastest luge qualifying time of the day! Dane is HOT off an IDF win at Gravity Fest and setting up well for the 2019 NorAm title. Dane crushed the Beast in the wet. Dane crushed the Beast in the dry. It's looking more and more like tomorrow's race belongs to Dane no matter the conditions - BUT the competition is close in his draft!
Tim Del, USA, took the second top qualifying time today with a 1:54.22. He was also putting down some of the HOTTEST laps in both wet and dry conditions. The last time Tim raced Killington, he earned second place. He is definitely hungry to get back on that podium and beat his previous ranking! Tim is on FIRE this year, and really proving himself - not that anyone ever doubted him.
Josh Evans, AUS, rounded out the top three with a 1:54.58. Going into the 2019 season, the hype for Jevans was strong! He earned fourth in the World last year, and spent all season training and dropping BANGER videos. However, his hard work has yet to land him on a podium in 2019. Could Killington be his race? He is one of the most OG Killington racers, with four previous years of racing Killington under his belt, and the IDF racer number of 14. We have a feeling that Jevans is going to NAYSH it come race day!
Emily Pross proved yet again that women are top racers when she made the top 10 list with a 1:56.16 qualifying time that seated her in tenth place.
