We have received some unfortunate news from Ecuador regarding Membrillal La Cuesta Abajo (Ecuador). The event organizer's released a statement, that due to lack of means to secure safety and logistics they have cancelled hosting a World Qualifying Series race in Ecuador for the 2019 World tour.

We also have received news that an incentive will be given to the current number 1's in the categories before the start of the Euro tour. They will be granted free registration for La Violenta. Registration for La Violenta (Argentina) is now open. Registrations for the remaining World Qualifying Series race in North America (Tour de Maryhill) is also now open.
Registrations for La Virgen (Colombia - WQS), La Leonera DH (Colombia - WC) and Yaku Raymi (Peru - WQS) for South America are soon to open. Stay tuned for more details.

Hemos recibido algunas desafortunadas noticias de Ecuador, acerca del Membrillal Cuesta Abajo IDF WQS 2019. El organizador del evento hizo un comunicado a través de los medios del evento, dando a conocer que debido a la falta de medios para garantizar la seguridad y una logística optima, deberán cancelar el evento World Qualifying Series de Ecuador para este World Tour 2019.
“We are sad to communicate that due to lack of means to cover safety and logistics, and some things that escape our control, we decided to cancel the Membrillal Cuesta Abajo IDF WQS 2019. Our main goal is to present a quality event with all the security that this dangerous sport needs, but after seeing we do not having the necessary resources to secure the track, we see no other solution than to cancel the event.
This is a very difficult decision for us because we have invested many work hours developing this event, but costs directly affect our work and incapacitate us of continuing our schedule.
We appreciate all riders support and we will hope to put up a 2020 event. Despite the adversities we will keep on working on making this important event possible in the coming years.”
