After battling with a bit of rain during the morning, the day 1 of Karera sa Lumban (the last race of the Austral-Asia IDF leg) started smooth with almost 50 riders from 7 nationalities altogether: Brazil, Australia, S. Korea, Taiwan, USA, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia….and the mayor local team-crews from Philippines. Today was practice and freeride.
Racers were super stoked on the “race quality asphalt” from this bendy track. Throughout the day riders were tucking through the sweeping sections of the course and fighting for grip at some of the pinching corners at the ends of the straights along the 2.3km of road.
Tomorrow is Qualifications Day followed by a top 10 shoot-out and a variety of Philippino style side activities.
