The IDF made the difficult decision to withdraw sanctioning from the beloved events: Yarra Ranges, Newtons, and Tame the Taipan. These races will continue without IDF sanctioning as National events - unless the organizer makes a decision to cancel the event.
Seaside World Cup will be rescheduled for late September, with the exact date pending.
The health and safety of our competitors is our priority. With this unprecedented situation developing rapidly and transmission rates increasing, we cannot in good faith promote upcoming races where our riders may be exposed to situations that lead to infection with, and later spread of, COVID-19.
The IDF has not taken any of these decisions lightly; we’re well aware of the effort and expenses you have put into these events and the overall season. We made the decision to follow the measures taken by international sports bodies around the world to assist with the containment and mitigation of COVID-19.
The 2020 IDF World Tour is now expected to open with Sanki in Sochi, Russia, June 27-28. The IDF is committed to working aside IDF event organizers and racers to solve this as a community in these hard times: we will continue monitoring the international situation and keep members updated on event logistics throughout April and May.
We apologize and ask for your understanding and cooperation at this time.
