The weather cleared for an hour, the track dried and Brennan Bast laid down the fastest run of the day, beating out all the big names. The first three runs were wet, and riders felt their way through their course, testing the grip, and sometimes struggling to even find the course amid the dense fog.
The fourth run was a different story; the track had dried completely during the lunch break allowing riders to carve around 10 seconds off their best times. An afternoon of fast dry runs lay ahead when the rain returned heavier than before, and qualifying was abandoned for the day.
The finals will begin tomorrow morning. The weather might be cold, but the competition is about to get red hot.
