The IDF shared an overwhelming amount of information at last Saturday’s AGM. We understand this information needs to also be delivered in a more digestible way to our members, so we will be releasing a series of articles to cover the topics of the 2020 race season, track safety, protective gear, the release of the NEW rulebook, and more! 2020 Race Season
The IDF board has stayed in close communications with IDF event organizers to decipher the best plan-of-action when moving forward during these times of uncertainty due to COVID-19. Some of the board’s top priorities are (in order) the safety of racers, financial sustainability of events, and sanctioning a World Class race series for Downhill Skateboard and Street Luge racing.
To best prepare our members, we have created some guidelines regarding what is needed to still host a 2020 IDF World Tour and/or Continental events:
- There must be 5 World Cups to host a World Tour with World Champions
- The necessary IDF reps must be able to travel to an event for it to continue with IDF sanctioning for a Continental tour
On May 2nd the board will release more information about the viability of the 2020 World Tour and an update on all hopeful 2020 events. We do NOT advise members to book any travel or accommodations until after this date.
