We're approaching late summer in the world circuit and it's time to take a hop and skip over the pond to the United States. This year we have 1 World Cup and 2 World Qualifier races happening in the USA and we're equally thrilled for each. This year each of the races is located conveniently on the east coast making for easy travel for those competing across events.
First stop: NCDH Mt. Jefferson - August 24-26 - WQS - Mt. Jefferson State Park
North Carolina has become a mecca for downhill skateboarding and it's no wonder they have a sanctioned race here this year. The housing market crash in 2008 left an abundance of abandoned roads throughout the blue ridge mountains which have cultivated a micro community of skaters in the great state of North Cackalacky. Meanwhile the NCDH crew has been working hard to support and growth the scene, churning out media and organizing many events, with Mt. Jefferson as their flagship event in Mt. Jefferson State Park. The race has been growing each year and we're excited to see it on the IDF Racing World Cup tour in 2018.
This August 24-26th, NCDH is hosting Mt. Jefferson 2018, an IDF World Qualifying event presented by the Ian Tillman Foundation. Come celebrate fall in the rolling hills of the Appalachian mountains for three days at the picturesque Mount Jefferson race course. Registration gets you camping for the whole weekend, shuttles, park sessions, and access to local food trucks. Bring your family and friends, spectating is free and shuttles will be running all day up and down the hill. The racecourse features multiple straights, hairpins, and 55+ mph.
Next up: Gravity Fest - September 15-16 - WQS - Munnsville, NY
The legendary event that started almost 20 years ago is back in action this year as a world qualifier with IDF board member Mike Girard as the host. The course features a good mix of grip corners, draft sections, and sliding. Top level racing is sure to be tight on the course.

In 2018, #EmgeeEvents is bringing back the historic Gravity Fest race in Munnsville, New York. It will be an IDF World Qualifier Series event, the weekend before Emgee Events' Killington IDF World Cup Race + Freeride - 2018. It will feature timed qualifiers, two days of freeriding, and exciting Sunday racing on an excellent track with restaurant, bar and campground all near the finish line.
Last but not least: Killington - September 21-23 - World Cup - Killington, VT
Killington has been a staple on the North American leg of the IDF tour for quite some time, with good reason. The track is the fastest on the World Cup circuit, with speeds reaching 70mph standup, 80+mph on luge and high speed cornering that will keep you on your toes. The race is the weekend after Gravity Fest, so for the first time in a long time, riders can hit 2 IDF events with one flight. There's just a few hours' drive (and epic hills) separating the two.
Situated in the picturesque Green Mountains of Vermont outside of Burlington, the scenery is great; we hear that September is a lovely time to visit New England, with foliage to boot. There is a new rider campground right on Killington Resort property, and a new direct partnership with the resort that should enable an even higher quality production and access to mountain biking and golfing for those who want to squeeze more out of their trip. Like Gravity Fest, #KillingtonWC is hosted by IDF Board Member Mike Girard of Emgee Events.

#EmgeeEvents brings back North America's fastest race track in 2018 with new dates: Sept 21-23. After a successful first run under new management in 2017, we're exciting to present an even better event in 2018. In addition to #KillingtonWC-specific upgrades, this is also the weekend after Emgee Events' Gravity Fest DH Race & Freeride - IDF WQS. Come enjoy back-to-back weekends of downhill racing and freeriding in the northeast!
We hope to see you out there!
